I’ve been very busy so far this summer, teaching full time at a university in the UK, trying to complete my Delta module three assignment, applying for Master’s programmes and coordinating upcoming freelance work. It’s been great to be back in the classroom as a full time teacher of groups again after a few years of only doing teacher training and private lessons. I’ve been trying out all sorts of activities with the students, without anyone observing me or having to follow particular guidelines as I would on a Celta. I’m not ashamed to say that I (almost) abandoned the set coursebook, and created my own materials tailor made for the learners.
It’s also been wonderful to have my own classroom in which I’ve been able to do whatever I want – rearrange the furniture as I see fit and best of all, use all of the wall space to my heart’s content. I made a quick film of the classroom today, showing off some of the work the students have been doing over the past few months. It would be lovely to have a look around other teacher’s classrooms too!
I’m planning to do a full post about the photography lesson.
Listening to some of my vowels makes me cringe. Does everyone feel embarrassed hearing their own voice?
