Advice for Life

I tried out the parallelism lesson the other day. It worked well. Students liked the sound files (Martin Luther King inspired them…how could he not?), they really liked finding their own inspirational quotes (some of them found song lyrics) and at the end of the lesson, worked together to produce their own updated version of rules for life, inspired by Baz Luhrmann’s Wear Sunscreen.

Although I gave the class a choice between making a poster or creating an MP3, they all chose the latter. Here’s the first group’s effort (with no input from me). I think they did a pretty good job for a first go!
