Parallelism /ˈparəlɛlɪzəm/

I teach academic writing and one of the topics that is covered and tested is parallel structures (or parallelism). The book we use is rather dull and dry so I created a lesson based on famous speeches, films and quotes for life.

My A2 students enjoyed it and I think it’s nice to see real examples of language being used. It includes Martin Luther King, Shakespeare, Mark Twain, Trainspotting, Banksy, Kim Kardashian and Baz Luhrmann’s Wear Sunscreen. All the files and everything you need is contained within the powerpoint, and all the teacher’s instructions are in the notes of the powerpoint and the word document. I hope you find it useful.
